Bridal Beauty

Every bride deserves to be the very special lady of the day and look her best. The hairdo, the makeup, the bridal trousseau and how the bride conducts herself is the focus of everybody's attention on this day and you will certainly feel much more comfortable, if you have already done the dress rehearsal first. Here are some useful tips for the bride
[1] To cover the reddish skin, use sheer color corrector and apply tinted moisturizer of yellowish green or olive green shade to neutralize it.
[2] Pink color blush is not for the wedding day, generally speaking. Try bronzer under cheekbones instead.
[3] Bright lip colors may be warm such as orange-red, orange-gold, copper and warm beiges, creams and caramels or cool such as fuchsia, magenta, blue-reds, shades of lilac and pink and make lips look plusher and fuller.
[4] Deep warm lip colors such as yellowish and orangish browns; mahogany, deep warm reds and chocolate and deep cool shades such as cool brown, taupe, deep purple, plum and blue-toned burgundy underplay too much thickness of lips.
[5] The subtle look can be achieved by using the air-brush a lot and sticking to light shades such as cream, gold, lime green and brown for warm skin undertones and lilac, plums and soft pink for cool skin undertones.
[6] Neutrals are the safest choice to make you seem a bride endowed with natural beauty
[7] Be sure to coordinate you overall look: all the colors should have either warm or cool tone while your hair, make-up, jewelry and gown should correspond to the carefully chosen theme.
[8] Hairstyle is usually chosen, after completing the makeup to suit the looks of the bride
[9] If you are not used to wearing heavy makeup, keep your hands away from blue and green eye shadows.
[10] For olive and dusky skinned ladies, maroons and brown lip colors are the safest bet as well as the golden tones.
[11] Hairstyles are often adorned with pearls, rhinestones, flower buds, golden lace, satin ribbons, jeweled hair bands and tiaras among other hair ornaments and may range from the simplest French braid or bud to complex and elaborate hairdos.
[12] Bridal makeup includes all the attention to the minutest of details. Don't overlook them for the finished look.
[13] A timeless makeup look will keep your wedding snaps fresher forever, so try not to give in to the fads of the day.
[14] Cream foundation with a high pigment level is recommended.
[15] Don't forget to cover your neck, chest, area behind your ears with foundation and makeup too. Don't forget to cover your neck, chest, area behind your ears with foundation and makeup too.
[16] Morning weddings need natural look makeup while evening weddings need more formally adorned brides with darker makeup shades.
[17] Lighting also determines your makeup. A well-lit area uses lighter colors while deeper tones are good for darker areas. Fluorescent lighting will add a greenish tinge to everything so avoid green shades.
[18] Try not to be too dramatic but there is a secret seldom revealed: red lipstick makes teeth appear whiter!

Additional Lip Tips

Lips and eyes are the most important focal points of your face so one must pay special attention to these areas while doing makeup. Here are some additional tips for your lips that you can use...

[1] Lipstick staining your teeth makes you look extremely shabby. To avoid this, pucker your lips in an extreme 'O' and then apply the lipstick.

[2] Even if your lipstick smudges to the insides of your lips, wrap your finger with a tissue and put it into your mouth, and twist it slowly to eliminate any extra color.

[3] You can also highlight your lips by using a light film of eye shadow color coordinated with your lip color in the center of the upper and lower lips.

[4] If one of your lips is larger than the other, balance the look by using the lighter shade of the lipstick on the smaller-sized lip.

[5] Don't let your lipstick pass on to the utensils while dining by using your tongue and lower teeth and avoiding them to come in contact with your lips.

[6] To smoothen the lips a little before applying lip color, rub them a little with washcloth gently.

[7] Apply foundation on and around lips and then define the look of your lips using the lip liner.

[8] If you lips are naturally full and large, don't use the lip liner though you can soften the edge using a Q-tip and avoid glossy and shiny lip color.

[9] If you have thin lips, use light shades to make them appear fuller. Define the lip using the neutral lip pencil from slightly beyond your natural lip line and then apply lipstick covering up lip defining line. Another trick is to apply white shadow on center of both lips over lipstick very lightly and spread it gently.

[10] If your upper lip is too thin or does not have a good shape, outline it with the lip liner similar to your lipstick and in the center portion, draw a second line giving it the precise shape using a brown pencil. Apply color including the brown line. This will make your lips look fuller.

[11] To hide lip lines, apply lipstick vertically.

Winter Makeup

Skin care routine and cosmetics for winters need to undergo a heavy makeover for the chilly cold season. You need to look more glamorous and more polished during the season. Matte understated shades such as coffee, chocolate and smoky shades for eyes and berry tones for lips and cheeks replace the fresh summer face. Gloss is in again and so are our beloved fruity and spicy tones of cosmetics. Velvety shades are the way to go for a winter woman. Here are some tips you can use this Christmas season:

[1] A bit of sheen on eyes can be used too for a change, if you are using nude shades; while on lips, it can help your lips to look more voluptuous

[2] Either your moisturizer or your foundation should have broad-spectrum sun protection factor to block UV sunrays that do not leave our skin alone even for winters. Matt finish foundation is better for winders.

[3] For fragrance, stick to essence of essential oils, spices and other natural aromas.

[4] If you want to sport long eyelashes, you may try fake individual eyelashes that can be applied using tweezers

[5] Sheer layer of creamy blushers can boost up your subtle makeup.

[6] Smokey eyes look best in winters and you can use eye shadows in cinnamon and coffee shades for sultry effect.

[7] Though, normally black mascaras make a comeback every winter season, this time it is the shades of Aubergine that are a great hit for the purple tint that matches your colored locks. A dark brown shade of waterproof mascara is a multipurpose product too.

[8] Tinted lip balms in honey, blackberry and red currant tones look great too in winters

[9] Tinted powder with a slight shimmer is great for winters.

[10] Use ample amount of skin-priming moisturizers, especially meant for winters, on your face that may have properties to exfoliate gently and lower concentration of alpha hydroxy acids. Night cream should be heavy for winters.

Make Up Tips

Make Up Tips

* The most important thing for make up is the color that suits you and makes you more attractive.

* Create new colors by mixing different shades

* If you want to highlight your eyes, keep your lipstick or lip gloss fairly light and neutral. If your mouth is a full, well shaped one, use a dark or stronger shade of lipstick and keep your eye make up clean and soft

* To prevent tanning, apply equal quantities of almond oil and malt vinegar one hour before your bath.

* Colors such as deep browns, burgundy, wine and blood-red work well on Indian skin.

* Keep lipsticks of pink, mauve and orange colors.

* Do not sleep in your make up as this can cause your lashes to dry out and become brittle.

* Foundation and loose powder are a great way to get an even complexion in minutes

* Use a good concealer to hide dark circles under eyes, crease lines and other marks and scars

Natural Acne Skincare

5 Tips for Natural Skincare
There are several tips for your natural skin care.

Tip 1: Give Yourself a Dry Brush Exfoliation...
A dry brush exfoliation can be done in the morning before you shower. It eliminates dead skin cells and allows the skin to detox (skin is the largest organ of elimination). Dry brush exfoliation also improves lymph and blood circulation and decreases puffiness. An added benefit is that the gentle pressure is calming to the nervous system. To give yourself a dry brush exfoliation, you'll need a soft, natural bristle brush.
Tip 2: Rev Up Your Digestion.
In alternative medicine, good skin is a reflection of a good digestive system. People with skin disorders such as acne, rosacea, and psoriasis often suffer from constipation, imbalanced "good" vs. "bad" bacteria, leaky gut, and other digestive conditions. The two most common sluggish digestion culprits are:.
Tip 3: Invigorate Sluggish Circulation ..
Do you sit at your desk for hours, only getting up to go to the bathroom? One of the best things you can do for your skin, stress level, and overall health is to get moving! Inactivity affects skin by promoting bloating and puffiness, acne, cellulite, and loss of muscle tone. You'll learn more about exercise in Step 9 of the Wellness Makeover. Here are some quick suggestions:Take a quick break to go outside and walk around the block...
Book a massage therapy appointment.

Close your door and stretch.

Go to the gym.

Start each morning by stretching.

Get a skipping rope.

Tip 4: Avoid Excess Sugar
Most people do not realize this but excess sugar is one of the main causes of premature aging. The more sugar we eat, the more sugar we have entering our bloodstream. Over time, this can result in a process known as glycation, which is when a glucose (sugar) molecule damages a protein molecule by sticking to it. The new molecules formed are called advanced glycation end-products, or AGEs. AGEs damage collagen in skin, cartilage, and ligaments, making them lose their elasticity. Wrinkles form and skin begins to sag.Try This - It may seem impossible to reduce your sugar intake, but it can be done! A gradual approach works best. In the next week, choose one thing you're going to do to decrease the amount of sugar you consume. For example, start by cutting the amount of sugar in your daily coffee or tea by half. Every week, find another way you can decrease your sugar intake. Pretty soon, you'll be surprised at how far you've come!...
Tip 5: Eat Some Good Fats...
Essential fats are simply fats your body cannot live without. They are needed to make cell membranes, hormones, and other body chemicals. Essential fats help you live longer, keep your heart healthy, fight inflammation, and possibly prevent cancer. They are also particularly important to people with inflammatory conditions such as eczema and acne, and also for people with dry skin. People with essential fat deficiency sometimes notice bumps on the backs of their arms. Here are my suggestions on getting more essential fats: Flaxseed and walnut oil - Use flaxeed oil or walnut oil with balsamic vinegar as a salad dressing. Be sure to keep these oils refrigerated. They should not be heated or used for cooking...
Cold water fish - Sardines are a good source of essential fats. Salmon is another good source, however these salmon accumulate toxic polychlorinated biphenyls (otherwise known as PCBs) in their body fat during the 95 percent of their lives they spend at sea...

Eyebrow Waxing

Eyebrow Waxing
(1) Preparing the Eyebrow..
Brush the eyebrow into place with a baby toothbrush or clean mascara wand, so that their natural shape is neatly defined. Next, apply an astringent such as witch hazel to anesthetize the sensitive skin under the brow. Work out your natural brow shape by standing several feet away from a mirror, and following these simple steps…
Working out the length of the eyebrow..
Hold a ruler parallel to your nose, and level with the inner corner of the eye, to work out where the brow should begin. If your eyes are close together, make the gap between the brows wider. If your eyes are far apart, don’t wax the start line of the brow too much so that they are closer together. Mark the correct point with a dot.
Working out the curve of the eyebrow ..
You can work out where the highest point of the curve/ arch should be by holding a ruler from the edge of the nostril past the outer edge of the iris (the colored part of the eye) and up to the eyebrow. Mark the spot with a dot
Final planning ...
Now link up the dots in a gentle arch to draw on the ideal shape of the eyebrow that you want to achieve. This will give you a guideline to go by when applying the wax. You should aim for a smooth arched brow that tapers slightly at the outer ends.
(2) Applying the Wax ...
Buy a professional waxing kit - basically a jar or tub of wax which can be warmed up in boiling water and applied with a small applicator or spatula, and (usually muslin) removal strips. Each product varies slightly, so be sure to read the manufacturers directions carefully.
Warm up the wax to optimum temperature and use the small spatula to apply a thin layer of wax to the growth. Make sure that you only use a small amount of wax on the spatula to avoid the wax dripping when it is applied. Apply wax with the hair growth under the eyebrow, (i.e. in the same direction that the hair grows in). You don’t need to use much, and you should not let the wax dry. ..
(4) The Aftermath ....
Any straggly hairs left over after waxing can be easily plucked out using a set of good tweezers. Apply a soothing balm like tea tree oil onto the area afterwards. You should avoid direct sunlight, acid based facial treatments, and liquid makeup for several hours.
To give the gorgeous new eyebrow shape emphasis, use an eyebrow pencil or tinted brow shadow to subtly fill in any gaps, and even out the natural color tone. Don’t worry if you make mistakes, even if you have bald patches or empty spaces. Practice makes perfect, and anyway, the hair will have grown back before you know it!! ....

Beauty Tips For Eyebrows

Beauty Tips For Eyebrows..
Your eyebrows add strength and definition to your face. Well groomed eyebrows enhance your beauty..
You should pluck eyebrows before bedtime so any redness will disappear overnight. In shaping your eyebrows use your facial features.
Use a pair of slant edge tweezers which grip hairs easily. Comb hairs one way and then the other to remove loose hairs.
You should pluck hairs between the brows and any stragglers. Never remove the hairs from above your eyebrows..
Pluck each hair individually close to the root. Work in the direction of the growth.
Always avoid over plucking. In defining your eyebrows choose a shade similar to your natural hair colour.
When using a pencil you should apply in small, feathered strokes. Starting at the inner corner work outwards. Blend the colour with a brush. To tame stray hairs just use hair gel and comb through to neaten.

Masks

Basically all face masks have some sort of a cleansing action. Various ingredients are used in the masks, depending on the skin type. Clay, form an important constituent of many face masks. They help to remove dirt, sebum, and dead skin so that the skin looks clean, soft and youthful.

Fullers earth is a special type of clay often used in face packs. It contains aluminium silicate. As it dries on the skin, it absorbs the superficial dead cells and blots up any excessive oil on the skin. It is therefore excellent for an oily skin but should not be used on dry skin. Kaolin is also a fine clay which has been used for tummy upsets because it absorbs toxins from the system. It removes grime, oils and dead cells. Kaolin is also best for oily skin and best avoided for dry skin...

Another ingredient of some of the masks is the peeling or the exfoliating agent-these remove the top layer of dead cells from the skin, leaving behind fresh youthful skin. Oatmeal and bran are the commonly used peelers. Oatmeal is obtained from oats which is rich in Vitamin B and Vitamin E..

Also added to many masks are natural ingredients-cucumbers, curds, lemon juice and Brewer's Yeast. It restores the acid / alkali balance of the skin.

Cleansing

" Cleansing is the first essential step in your daily skin care routine"

# Cleansing the face 2-3 times a day; is adequate for normal skin. If your skin is oily a more frequent cleansing i.e. 4-5 times a day is necessary. If your skin is dry it is best to avoid frequent washing and you may have to use a suitable oil-based cosmetic cleanser instead of soap, which has a dry effect.

# There are several alternatives to soap and water cleansing. Cleansers can be in the form of creams, milks, lotions, gels and liquids. All are, a mixture of oil, wax and water which have been formulated to suit different skin types. A cotton -pad dipped in fresh milk available at home, is an equally effective cleanser.

# The right way to apply cleansers and creams on your face is in an upward and outward movement. The skin should not be stretched, dragged or pulled. Leave the cleanser on for a minute or two so as to loosen the dirt and make up. Remove it either using a cotton wool or with a tissue paper, again using an upward and out ward movement. Finally rinse with water....
